Worship Ministry Coordinator
 
Job Description: 
The Worship Ministry Coordinator will take the lead in planning our worship ministry with the Senior Pastor. He or she will work with the Senior Pastor and other staff to assure that the musical selections and other worship elements in each service create an atmosphere of worship, prepare the way for Biblical teaching, and facilitate a response from worshipers. West Side Baptist has sought to maintain a blended style of worship.
 

Scope of Responsibilities:

will include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Work with the Senior Pastor in planning weekly worship service(s).
  • Lead all worship rehearsals
  • Coordinate weekly staging for Sunday morning worship service
  • Schedule all those who are leading/supporting worship ministry including singers, instrumentalists, technicians, and those making announcements.
  • Work with the choir on a regular basis to prepare music pieces for performance in worship services
  • Attend regularly scheduled Staff meetings 

 

Qualifications:

  • Be a Christian with a calling to use his or her spiritual gifts in worship ministry
  • Have fundamental knowledge of music theory and knowledge of, and appreciation for both traditional hymns and contemporary worship music
  • Relate well to adults of all ages and youth
  • Work cooperatively with staff and volunteers and demonstrate leadership qualities
  • Be supportive of church staff and should be willing and able to communicate that support

 

Supervision and Compensation:

This is a “permanent part-time” position of 21 hours per week reporting to the Senior Pastor. This position is eligible for partial benefits as outlined in the Personnel Policies Handbook.

Pay will be commensurate with experience and education.

Communications Coordinator
 
Job Description: 
The Communications Coordinator will oversee the development and implementation of efficient and effective communications, worship media and graphic design for West Side. The Communications Coordinator will also be responsible for front office duties and assuring church documents are maintained.
 

Scope of Responsibilities:

will include, but are not limited to the following:
Managing Front Office
  • Answer calls, take messages, and greet visitors
  • Distribution of letters and printed materials
  • Maintain records of membership, prospects, and other activities as necessary
  • Organize and maintain photos and videos provided by ministry groups
  • Manage requests for use of the church and UC facilities
  • Maintain church programs and documents including: organizational structure, operations manual, leadership material, certificates, memorial programs, and other documents as needed
  • Attend staff meetings to coordinate weekly planning with the church team 

Managing Communications

  • Assure notifications to congregation are communicated on a routine basis
  • Create and manage church-wide communications and desktop publications including: calendars, weekly bulletins, monthly newsletter, church brochures, church banners, and other special event materials as needed
  • Oversee public relations work including: creating various print publications, advertisements, worship slides, announcement boards, maintaining web pages and social media presence (Facebook, etc.), photo and video editing as needed, maintain and improve WSBC social media accounts
  • Explore programs and updates to improve church-wide communications

 

Qualifications:

  • History of administrative and graphic design/communications experience; college or associates
    degree preferred
  • Advanced computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office, Google apps and data management programs
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks without daily supervision
  • Proficiency and experience with video editing software and Adobe Photoshop
  • Ability and willingness to learn new applications
  • Knowledge and understanding of the digital media landscape including social media and basic website design
  • Be an active member of WSBC or of a like-faith church
